Centralia man, 24, killed as ATV hits tree

A Centralia man was killed Saturday night after crashing an all-terrain vehicle into tree near Tenino, according to the Washington State Patrol.

About 6:20 p.m. Duane A. Ash, 24, was driving a 2005 Honda TRX450 eastbound near the 4900 block of Old Military Road when he lost control of the ATV, left the roadway and struck a tree, according to trooper Guy Gill.

Ash was pronounced dead at the scene by medical personnel. He was not wearing a helmet.

It it is not known if drugs or alcohol were involved, Gill said.

The vehicle suffered $500 in damages and was returned to the registered owner, according to a patrol news release.
