Air National Guard

Air National Guard Airman Alexis P. Hughes graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas. He is the son of Don and Lori Hughes of Shelton, and a 2009 graduate of Camas High School.


Clarissa K. Harris has been commissioned as a second lieutenant in the Army after successfully completing the Army ROTC (Reserve Officers’ Training Corps) program and graduating with a bachelor’s degree from the University of Idaho, Moscow. She is the daughter of Kellie and Bryan Harris, and the granddaughter of Sandy and Dan Sorby, of Rochester. Harris graduated is a 2007 graduate of North Beach High School, Ocean Shores.

Army Pfc. Gideon N. Lovik has graduated from basic combat training at Fort Jackson, Columbia, S.C. He is the son of Dena Lovik of Olympia, and a 2007 graduate of River Ridge High School.

Army National Guard

Army National Guard Pfc. Rachael B. Stuhlmiller has graduated from One Station Unit Training (OSUT) at Fort Leonard Wood, Waynesville, Mo., which included basic military training and advanced individual training (AIT). She is the daughter of John C. and Allyson E. Stuhlmiller of Olympia. Stuhlmiller graduated from a home school program in 2007, and received an associate degree in 2009 from South Puget Sound Community College.


Navy Seaman Wendy N. Schwandt, daughter of Diane R. and Arlen E. Schwandt of Olympia, recently graduated with honors from Basic Electronics Technician School. Schwandt is a 2000 graduate of Centralia High School.
