The numbers for the Olympia Toy Run are in.
More than 18,000 motorcycles participated in the Dec. 3 ride from South Sound Center in Lacey to Marathon Park in Olympia, bringing in about $85,000 worth of toys and $7,200 in cash donations for the Salvation Army, said coordinator Joe Sullivan.
“The toy count was down, but we had more cash donated this year,” he said on Monday.
During the next few weeks, proceeds from the sales of souvenir shirts and pins – which are available at Northwest Harley-Davidson in Lacey – are expected to bring in an additional $6,000 to $8,000 for the Salvation Army, Sullivan said.
