Two women were injured at about 8:40 a.m. Friday when their car was struck by a log truck on southbound Interstate 5 about 12 miles south of Napavine in Lewis County.
According to a press memo from the Washington State Patrol:
The log truck was empty with its trailer bunked up. When the truck moved from the center to the right lane, it struck a 1993 Lexus GS sedan. Then, the Lexus stuck the guardrail on the right side.
Two women in the Lexus, the 39-year-old female driver and a 20-year-old female passenger, both of Mount Vernon, were injured in the crash and transported to a local hospital. An unknown man who was in the Lexus fled from the scene, and may also have been injured.
