Crews rescue woman, dog after boat capsizes
A woman and her dog, Tuffy, were rescued by Lacey Fire District 3 Monday afternoon after her boat capsized between McAllister Creek and the mouth of the Nisqually River in northeastern Thurston County.
Lacey Fire was dispatched about 2:30 p.m. Monday following a report from a kayaker who witnessed the capsizing and then stayed with the woman and dog.

The woman was not injured. It was thought to be her first outing in the small boat, Lacey Fire Chief Steve Brooks said.
