Lacey Police: Woman jumped from retirement center roof

A woman reported to have fallen Monday from the Bonaventure retirement center in the 4500 block of Intelco Loop in Lacey was actually trying to get out of the building, according to Lacey Police.

About 5 p.m. Monday, the woman exited the building on the third floor to get to a rooftop on the second floor. She then jumped from the lowest point of that second-floor roof, which was about 8 feet off the ground, Sgt. Terence Brimmer said.

Brimmer said the woman was upset that a friend wouldn’t visit her and that she couldn’t get any more pain medication.

The woman was not physically injured, but she was later taken to Providence St. Peter Hospital for a psychiatric evaluation.

Bonaventure is a retirement living, assisted living and residential memory care center.
