Lacey fire rescues construction worker from roof

One man was taken to the hospital with minor injuries Wednesday morning following a construction accident in Lacey, according to the Lacey Police Department.

Firefighters responded to the construction site, located on the 7300 block of Martin Way, at about 8:45 a.m., said Battalion Chief Steve Crimmins. A man had been working on the roof of the building and slipped, injuring his knee.

Although the injuries weren’t serious, the man wasn’t able to climb down on his own, Crimmins said. Firefighters rescued the man, who was transported to Providence St. Peter Hospital.
