Langer will not seek council re-election
Olympia City Council member Steve Langer announced Friday he won’t seek re-election in the fall.
Langer, the chairman of the City Council’s Land Use and Environment Committee for the past four years, said in a news release he is looking forward to focusing on implementing the city’s comprehensive plan.
Langer was appointed to the council in June 2010 after the resignation of then-council member Joe Hyer. He was elected to a four-year term to Position No. 2 in November 2011.
Langer said he plans to focus on his family and professional work.
