A 20-year-old Shelton woman was killed early Sunday morning after the car she was driving was struck head on by another car, according to the Washington State Patrol.
About 1:30 a.m. Sunday, Breanna R. Atwell and her passenger were northbound on U.S. Hwy. 101, about two miles southwest of Shelton, when a southbound vehicle crossed the center line and crashed into them.
Atwell died at the scene. Her passenger, a 22-year-old man from Shelton, was injured and taken to Mason General Hospital.
The other driver, a 20-year-old man whose city of residency was unknown at the time, was injured and taken to Providence St. Peter Hospital.
The crash is under investigation. Drugs or alcohol are thought to be involved.
