A man died Wednesday morning after a northbound Interstate 5 crash at Carpenter Road in Lacey, according to the Washington State Patrol.
The man was identified as a 50-year-old Tumwater man. The Thurston County Coroner’s Office is still working to notify the next of kin of his death.
At about 5:50 a.m., the man had been driving a silver Ford pickup north on I-5 when his car left the road. The car traveled about 60 feet down an embankment before coming to a stop. The man died at the scene. He had been wearing a seat belt.
No other cars were involved in the crash, and no one else was injured.

Washington State troopers are still investigating the cause of the crash, but they don’t believe drugs or alcohol were involved.
