Woman crashes into power pole off Carpenter Road in Lacey

A woman northbound on Carpenter Road Southeast on Sunday morning, allegedly veered off the road and struck a power pole, according to the Lacey Police Department.

One lane in the 6600 block of Carpenter Road was closed at 11 a.m. so that crews can repair the pole, said Officer Bev Reinhold.

An outage map on Puget Sound Energy’s website shows that 111 customers were without power in the area. Power was expected to be restored at 6 p.m. Sunday, the map indicated.

The woman was driving a minivan, Reinhold said. Other details about the driver were not immediately available.

This is the second car vs. pole accident on Carpenter Road since Thursday. About 3 p.m. Thursday, a driver lost control of his car and struck a power pole. The car rolled over, and the power pole and power lines fell onto the road.

Ninety-five PSE customers lost power as a result of that accident.
