Bicyclist injured in Lacey crash

A man on a bicycle was injured Friday afternoon when he was struck by a car on Ruddell Road in Lacey, according to the Lacey Police Department.

Sgt. Dave Campbell said the rider, a man in his 50s, was riding north along Ruddell Road at about 4:15 p.m. and tried to cross onto 19th Avenue Southeast. One car stopped to let him pass, but a truck struck the bicyclist.

The man was unconscious when the first officer arrived on scene, but he woke up. He was transported to Providence St. Peter Hospital with unknown injuries.

Ruddell Road was closed at the scene of the crash until about 4:45 p.m.
