The Olympia Police Department has released an image of a suspect wanted in connection to a fatal shooting over the weekend at Percival Creek on the city’s west side.

The Olympian typically does not identify suspects before they have appeared in court, but in this case the man remains at large and police are seeking help locating him.

Police are looking for Steven L. Messex, 43. He is described as white, 5-foot-9 and 160 pounds. He has brown hair and blue eyes and three tattoos: a gargoyle on his right arm, Popeye on his left forearm and barbed wire on his left arm. He is considered armed and dangerous, according to police.

About 4:50 a.m. July 20, police were dispatched to a shooting in an area near the 1400 block of Evergreen Park Drive Southwest. They found a 34-year-old woman, later identified as Savannah M. Feiler, who had been shot to death. The shooting was reportedly prompted by an argument, police told The Olympian.

Anyone with information about Messex is asked to call 911.
