Two people arrested following armed robbery, kidnapping in Olympia, sheriff says

TCSO

Two people were arrested on Saturday night on Olympia’s east side following a robbery with a knife and kidnapping.

Sheriff Derek Sanders shared details of the arrest on his social media around 10 p.m. July 26. He said the victim was kidnapped after a drug transaction and robbed of cash and personal items, then beaten and dumped on the side of the road.

Sanders said the suspect vehicle was described as a black Yukon with stickers on the back. An hour later, Sanders spotted a black Yukon with stickers on it driving in Lacey. After observing the vehicle fail to signal, he conducted a traffic stop.

He said the occupants of the vehicle matched the description of the robbery suspects.

Sanders said it was determined that the robbery took place in Olympia, and the Olympia Police Department arrested the two on suspicion of armed robbery and kidnapping.
