A creek near Rochester will be on the agenda when the state Committee on Geographic Names meets this spring to consider proposed name changes for several locations.
The proposal would specifically designate a currently unnamed stream flowing into the Black River north of Rochester as Shaner Creek, to honor a deceased area resident.
The group is also considering name changes to two locations in San Juan County.
