Shelton police have arrested two suspects in connection with an alleged armed robbery and kidnapping in Mason County.
Police report the incident took place Wednesday at a residence off Highway 101 near the Skokomish Tribal Reservation. The victim was forced to drive two suspects to various places and eventually arrived at a residence in Shelton where the victim escaped and ran to the Shelton Police Department, according to Sgt. Mike Fiola.
The Mason County Regional SWAT Team was called in to help arrest the suspects in the 1400 block of Railroad Avenue in Shelton. Railroad Avenue was temporarily closed during an hourlong standoff. The suspects are awaiting formal charges by the county prosecutor.
Fiola said that in addition to the two suspects, police arrested six other people at the scene who had outstanding warrants.
