A registered level-three sex offender has moved from Chehalis to Centralia, according to the Lewis County Sheriff's Office.
Scott Terence Johnson, 43, will be living in the 1800 block of North Tower Avenue.
Johnson was convicted of second-degree rape in 1989. The crime took place in Lewis County and involved Johnson asking a female acquaintance to drive him home in his own car because he claimed he was intoxicated. He then directed her to a remote location where he physically and sexually assaulted her, according to the sheriff's office.
The victim was able to get away after the sexual assault and report the crime to authorities.

As a result of the conviction he was sentenced to 30 months of confinement in prison. Since his release from custody on the original charge he has been convicted of several additional criminal offenses. His last conviction was for third-degree theft in Lewis County Superior Court in 2007. He has been classified as a level-three offender and presents a high risk of continued criminal behavior.
According to the sheriff's office, there are a total of 453 sex offenders registered in Lewis County, with 21 considered level three, 51 level two and 381 level one.
