Public's help sought to find Yelm-area assault suspect

The Thurston County Sheriff’s Office seeks the public’s help in finding a Yelm-area man suspected of first-degree assault, theft of a motor vehicle, first-degree kidnapping and felony harassment in an alleged assault on his girlfriend.

According to a news release:

Garrett R. West, 46, beat his girlfriend, held her against her will and threatened to kill her and her son, then fled in her minivan. The women was taken to Providence St. Peter Hospital with injuries.

West is described as 6 feet and 185 pounds, with gray hair and green eyes. The minivan he was driving was a white 2001 Chrysler Town & Country, with license plate 114 WHC.
