A Lacey woman died Wednesday morning when the vehicle she was a passenger in crashed into a school bus.

The Mason County coroner has identified the woman as Kahil Marie Marshall, 39, of Lacey. The coroner said Marshall died at the scene from blunt trauma.

The Washington State Patrol reported that a sport utility vehicle was traveling about 60 miles per hour when it rear-ended a school bus that had slowed for a turn on U.S. Highway 101 six miles south of Shelton about 6:30 a.m.

Sgt. Larry Conley said the driver, a 32-year-old Olympia man, was injured and taken to Mason General Hospital in Shelton.

There were no children on the Shelton School District bus. Conley said the driver suffered a sore neck and back.

Troopers are investigating whether alcohol or drugs were involved. Witnesses said the SUV was speeding and weaving. They did not see brake lights before impact.
