1 dead, 1 in custody after shooting in Allyn Thursday night

A 47-year-old Allyn man is dead and a 34-year-old Shelton woman is in jail after the woman allegedly shot the man in the face at his home in the 100 block of Sherwood Lane East in Allyn around 9:11 p.m. Thursday.

According to a press release from the Mason County Sheriff’s Office:

Mason County Sheriff’s deputies responded to the home after 911 dispatchers were called with a report that a man had been shot in the face, and was lying unresponsive in the front area of the residence.

The woman who allegedly shot the man had fled the scene on foot, but was later found by deputies lying in the backyard of a neighbor’s home.

Mason County Coroner Wes Stockwell has identified the man as Patrick Joseph Frender.

The woman was taken into custody and booked into the Mason County Jail for investigation of murder with a firearm.

A search warrant was served on the victim’s residence by Mason County Sheriff’s deputies where a firearm was found and placed into evidence.

Because this is an ongoing investigation; no further information is available.
