The Lakewood husband and wife who died in a homicide-suicide shooting Wednesday afternoon have been identified, according to the Thurston County Coroner’s Office.
The man has been identified as Ronald Ray, 53, and the woman, Brenda Ray, 38. Both lived in Lakewood.
Autopsies are set for Friday, the coroner’s office announced.
About 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, the Thurston County Sheriff’s Office and medics responded to reports of two bodies found near their vehicle in the 7000 block of 56th Ave. N.E., west of Marvin Road. The woman was dead at the scene, and the man died on his way to Providence St. Peter Hospital.

A semi-automatic pistol also was found at the scene, along with two spent shell casings.
The man is thought to have shot his wife and then turned the gun on himself.
The couple have two children, ages 16 and 13, who were placed into protective custody by Child Protective Services and then turned over to other family members.
