Lacey Police arrested a man Sunday night who allegedly brandished a handgun at officers while he was high on paint fumes.

The suspect reported feeling sick about 6 p.m. Sunday after huffing spray paint in a home near the 1300 block of College Street, Sgt. Terence Brimmer said Monday morning. When medics and officers arrived, the suspect allegedly brandished a handgun at them, prompting law enforcement to call for backup from the SWAT team.

SWAT team officers breached the door and took the man into custody, Brimmer said. No one else was in the home, he said.

The man was booked into Thurston County Jail on domestic violence charges from outstanding warrants.
