Bodies spotted by a helicopter crew and recovered on Mount Rainier were identified Friday as those of three climbers who died on the mountain in May.
They are Mark Mahaney, 26, of St. Paul, Minnesota; Uday Marty, 40, of Singapore; and John Mullally, 40, of Seattle, the Pierce County Medical Examiner’s Office said.
Rangers recovered the bodies Tuesday from where six climbers went missing in a debris field on Carbon Glacier, in one of the most hazardous areas of Mount Rainier National Park.
The group is believed to have fallen 3,300 feet while climbing Liberty Ridge.
