Tumwater police investigate armed robbery at gas station

Tumwater police are searching for a suspect in an armed robbery that happened early Tuesday at a gas station in the 600 block of Trosper Road.

A masked gunman entered the Chevron station about 1:15 a.m., pointed a gun at the employee and demanded money, according to Tumwater police. The suspect fled with an undisclosed amount of money and was headed toward South Second Avenue, police said. A K-9 unit tried to track the suspect, but was unsuccessful.

The suspect was described as a man with a dark complexion, with a height of about 5 feet 8 inches and weight at about 150 pounds. He was wearing a black mask, a black coat with gray sleeves, black shoes and black jeans.
