A 17-year-old Tumwater boy is in custody after allegedly robbing a Tumwater convenience store early Thursday morning, according to the Tumwater Police Department.
The 17-year-old’s clothing and method of operation match those of the suspect in another robbery that took place Sept. 2 at the Chevron gas station on Trosper Road, and the department is recommending an additional robbery charge.
In the Thursday robbery, the suspect allegedly entered the 7-11 on Custer Way about 12:30 a.m. while wearing a mask and carrying a gun. He then robbed two employees at gunpoint and fled on foot with an undisclosed amount of money, the department reported.
An officer noticed the suspect running from the scene and determined that he was the alleged robber based on clothing descriptions and a witness identification. The suspect was arrested and booked into the Thurston County Juvenile Detention Facility on three counts of first-degree robbery.
