Man tries to lure Olympia High School students

Police are searching for a young man who allegedly tried to lure two female Olympia High School students into his car Monday afternoon, according to the Olympia Police Department.

The students were walking home from school at about 3 p.m. when a car drove up to them at the intersection of Boulevard Road SE and Log Cabin Road SE. The male driver asked the students if they wanted a ride. They declined, police reported.

The man drove around the roundabout and stopped near them again, this time performing a lewd act and making sexual suggestions. The students walked away quickly.

The driver followed them for a short time, then sped away, according to police. Officers searched the area but were unable to find the suspect.

The vehicle is described as a gray, four-door car with a Washington license plate beginning with the letters VS. The driver is described as a white male between the ages of 16 and 18, with reddish-brown hair combed to the side.

Anyone with information about the incident should contact the Olympia Police Department at 360-753-8300 or Thurston County CrimeStoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477). Anyone who sees the vehicle should call 911.
