Two arrested in Thurston County stabbing, deputies searching for four more suspects

A Thurston County man was beaten and stabbed by a half-dozen friends Wednesday morning because he failed to return a borrowed car, according to the Thurston County Sheriff’s Office.

Lt. Cliff Ziesemer said the 20-year-old man was taken to Providence St. Peter Hospital with multiple stab wounds, none of which was life-threatening. Three people were arrested near the scene: a 15-year-old boy, an 18-year-old woman and a 35-year-old woman. Deputies are looking for four other suspects.

One of the suspects told deputies that she had let a friend borrow her car, but he wouldn’t give it back, according to Ziesemer. She rounded up six friends and went to a house in the 5200 block of Rumac Street Southeast, near Lacey, where they found the friend sitting in the car.

The suspects beat and stabbed the man, and then broke into the home and demanded money and heroin.

Most of the suspects fled before deputies arrived, but they have been identified. The three arrested suspects, including the owner of the car, were located by a K-9 dog.
