Police are investigating an armed robbery that was reported just before noon Friday at Olympia Federal Savings, 2420 Harrison Ave. NW, Olympia, according to Lt. Ray Holmes.
“A lone white male entered the business displaying a handgun, approached one of the tellers and removed money out of, I believe, one of the cash registers and then exited the bank,” Holmes said.
The man was described as tall, thin and wearing dark clothing, he said. The suspect’s face may have been partially covered with a scarf or some type of mask, Holmes said. No other suspect information was immediately available.
“At this point, we have thoughts that this person may be the same person who has committed other robberies in the area,” Holmes said. “…(Detectives) are looking to verify whether or not that’s the case.”
