The Thurston County SWAT team arrested two suspects after an hours-long standoff near Grand Mound, according to the Thurston County Sheriff’s Office.
Lt. Cliff Ziesemer said a deputy responded to the home, located on the 19000 block of Apricot St SW, Tuesday morning after a neighbor reported suspicious activity. The deputy saw four people. Two men ran inside the home, and two woman were detained.
The deputy ran the license plate of a vehicle at the scene, and it was reported stolen from Lacey on Jan. 31. Ziesemer said the men are armed.
One of the suspects hid in the crawlspace underneath the home. A Thurston County Sheriff’s Office K9 was sent in, and bit the man after he resisted arrest. He was treated for minor injuries, Ziesemer said. The second man was also arrested.
Both of the male suspects had outstanding warrants: one from California, and one from Centralia.
Law enforcement is still investigating the stolen vehicle.
