A 13-year-old Komachin Middle School student was struck by a car Thursday morning while walking to school, according to the Lacey Police Department.
Cmdr. Jim Mack said the girl didn’t appear to be injured, but a parent planned to take her to the doctor. The driver was cited at the scene for failure to yield and driving without insurance.
The incident occurred at about 8:30 a.m. when the girl was crossing College Street and walking toward the school. The driver turned onto College Street from 37th Avenue and struck the girl, and she fell to the ground.
Officers are still investigating the incident, Mack said.
