Telescope stolen from Olympia’s Percival Landing

Olympia police are looking for a missing telescope taken from Percival Landing some time in the past two weeks, according to Lt. Paul Lower.

Lower said Olympia Parks, Arts and Recreation employees noticed that the telescope was missing at about 4 p.m. Wednesday. The large, blue telescope was permanently attached to the dock, and the cost of repairing the stand and replacing the telescope would be about $3,500.

There are no leads on who may have taken the telescope or why they may have taken it, Lower said. Anyone with information about the theft should call Olympia Parks, Arts and Recreation at 360-753-8380 or the Olympia Police Department at 360-704-2740.
