Olympia police clash with protesters Thursday night after peaceful protests earlier

Protests over the Thursday morning officer-involved shooting in Olympia ended late Thursday night after a clash with police.

Two groups of protesters began fighting in the street outside city hall just before midnight, and police responded.

When officers tried to break up the confrontation, dozens of protesters began clashing with police. Rocks were thrown by the protesters, but we have not been told of any injuries to police.

Protests earlier in the day were peaceful.
