Concrete and floating don’t usually cooperate, but engineering students find a way.
The City of Lacey’s Long Lake Park was the site of a Concrete Canoe Competition Saturday.
A concrete canoe, you say? Doesn’t that defy logic?
The competition was part of the American Society of Civil Engineers 2019 Pacific Northwest Region Student Conference taking place at Saint Martin’s University in Lacey.
The competition featured University Engineering Teams from around the Pacific Northwest racing canoes made of concrete along 100-200 meters of the park’s lakefront.
