GRADUATIONS

Army Staff Sgt. George T. Garcia has graduated from the Fire Support Specialist Advanced Individual Training course at Fort Sill, Okla. The field artillery specialists serve in intelligence activities including target processing in field artillery, cannon battalions, division artillery, artillery and maneuver brigade, and headquarters and fire support elements. Garcia is the son of Jackie Lopez of Lacey.

Army Pfc. Anthony Joseph T. Hocog has graduated from the Basic Field Artillery Cannon Crewmember Advanced Individual Training course at Fort Sill, Okla. The course is designed to train servicemembers to maintain, prepare and load ammunition for firing; and to operate and perform maintenance on prime movers, self- propelled Howitzers and ammunition vehicles. He is the son of Lucinda H. Santiago of Saipan, Mariana Islands, and brother of Jeric Hocog of Olympia.

HOMECOMINGS

Army Pfc. Alex S. Kendall has returned to Fort Richardson, Alaska, after being deployed to Afghanistan for one year. The soldier is one of 3,500 members of the 4th Airborne Brigade Combat Team, 25th Infantry Division stationed at Fort Richardson. He is the son of Scott Kendall of Elma and Kim Kendall of Lacey. Alex Kendall is a 2004 graduate of Elma High School.
