Evergreen professor wins science award

Nalini M. Nadkarni, a faculty member at The Evergreen State College, will be honored in May as the recipient of the 2010 National Science Board Public Service Award for "making contributions in public understanding of science and engineering in the United States," according to a news release.

Nadkarni teaches environmental studies at Evergreen and is an adjunct associate professor in the School of Forest Resources at the University of Washington, where she received her doctorate in 1983.

Nadkarni will receive her award May 4 during the National Science Board Annual Awards Dinner at the U.S. Department of State in Washington, D.C.
