Thurston County Superior Court Commissioner Christine Schaller will talk about juvenile justice today as part of the Robert A. Harvie Social Justice Lecture Series at Saint Martin's University.
The lecture, which is free and open to the public, begins at 4 p.m. in Harned Hall, Room 110, at 5300 Pacific Ave. S.E., Lacey.
Schaller will explain how the county’s Juvenile Drug Court works and the effect of budget cuts on the juvenile justice system.
Schaller earned a Bachelor of Arts in history and political science in 1993 at Saint Martin’s before attending Gonzaga University’s School of Law.
The lecture series, which was created to raise awareness of social justice issues, is named in honor of Robert A. Harvie, a former professor and chairman of the Saint Martin’s department of criminal justice.
