DSHS worker named to help head budget office

Stan Marshburn, who was the budget leader at the state Department of Social and Health Services, now is second in command of the state budget office.

Marshburn served a stint as the interim leader of DSHS before Gov. Chris Gregoire named Susan Dreyfus the new secretary. Now Marshburn – one of the longtime budget chiefs in Olympia – will take the slot formerly occupied by Wolfgang Opitz.

Opitz moved to the State Treasurer’s Office when Jim McIntire took over there after the election.
