Serenity LaChapelle, an Olympia McDonald’s worker credited with saving an 8-year-old girl from a stranger who tried to abduct the girl, is among 10 state and private-sector employees who will be recognized Friday by the state Attorney General’s Office.
Attorney General Rob McKenna will hand out the awards during the Public Employees Safety Awareness and Preparedness Fair, set for 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on the east Capitol Campus plaza. The presentation is set for 10:30 a.m. and will begin with a speech by Olympia Mayor Doug Mah.
