State disciplines health care providers

The Washington State Department of Health has taken the following disciplinary actions against health care providers in Thurston County.

 • In June, the Nursing Commission charged registered nurse and advanced registered nurse practitioner Elizabeth Anderson with unprofessional conduct. She allegedly might not be able to practice with reasonable skill and safety.

 • In June, the Nursing Assistant Program placed the certification of certified nursing assistant Sonia M. Romero on probation for two years. She pulled a patient’s shirt over the patient’s head to stop her from spitting and left the patient alone for several minutes in the bathroom, according to the department. She must comply with terms and conditions set against her certification.

The Department of Health has taken the following disciplinary actions against health care providers in Grays Harbor County.

 • In July, the Medical Commission revoked the license of physician Antoine Johnson. He failed to meet the standard of care in treating and prescribing medications for more than two dozen patients, putting the patients at risk of serious harm, according to the department.

 • In July 2009, the Nursing Assistant Program indefinitely suspended the registration of Marcy L. Thatcher. She was convicted of third-degree assault.
