Man accused of shooting Owen’s son dies

The man who police say shot Washington Lt. Gov. Brad Owen’s son has died.

Carlos Fernandez died Wednesday afternoon at Harborview Medical Center in Seattle, hospital spokeswoman Susan Gregg-Hanson said. Fernandez was accused of shooting Mark Owen, 37, who was discharged Tuesday. Owen was a partner with Fernandez in a body shop for semitrailers.

Kent police say Fernandez, 63, shot Owen during an argument, then shot himself in the head.
