Thanksgiving holiday schedules, closures

The Thanksgiving holiday on Thursday means changes in some schedules and services.

 • Post offices will be closed and there will be no regular mail delivery Thursday, but will be open with regular mail delivery Friday.

 • Banks and credit unions will be closed Thursday and may or may not be open Friday. Check with your individual bank or credit union in advance.

 • Federal offices will be closed Thursday but open Friday.

 • State offices will be closed Thursday and Friday.

 • County and city offices will be closed Thursday and Friday.

 • Driver and Motor Vehicle Services offices will be closed Thursday and Friday.

 • Port of Olympia offices will be closed Thursday and Friday.

 • Area school districts will be on Thanksgiving Break Thursday and Friday.

 • The Evergreen State College, Saint Martin’s University and South Puget Sound Community College will be closed Thursday and Friday.

 • All Timberland Regional Library branches will be closed Thursday and Friday.

 • Mason Transit will not provide bus service Thursday but will provide regular bus service Friday. For more information, call 360-427-5033 or visit www.masontransit.org.

 • Pierce Transit will provide service Thursday but will run on a Sunday schedule. It will provide regular weekday service Friday. For information about service between Tacoma and Seattle, call 253-581-8000.

 • Intercity Transit will not provide bus service Thursday but will provide regular bus service Friday. For information on your route, call 360-786-1881 or go online to www.intercitytransit.com.

 • The Olympian’s customer service desk will be closed Thursday but open Friday. For circulation questions, call 1-800-905-0296.

 • Local garbage collection agencies will provide services to residential and commercial customers Thursday and Friday.

 • The Thurston County Waste and Recovery Center will be closed Thursday but open Friday. For more information, call 360-786-5494 or go online to www.co.thurston.wa.us/wwm.

 • Parking meters in downtown Olympia will be free Thursday and Friday.
