Two state representatives plan "virtual" town hall meetings this week, starting with Rep. Brendan Williams' phone-in at 6:30 p.m. today.
Rep. Ross Hunter, D-Medina, plans a similar event Tuesday evening. Hunter is the chairman of the House Finance Committee and is looking at tax exemptions that might be closed to raise revenue.
Williams, D-Olympia, represents the 22nd district. The House Democratic Caucus said Williams plans to talk with constituents about what Gov. Chris Gregoire’s first-draft budget proposal means for state services, and also answer questions about the 60-day legislative session that begins Jan. 11.
The caucus announcement said “many residents of the district” will be called this evening asking if they want to stay on the line and join the discussion. Residents also can call in between 6:30 and 7:30 p.m. The toll-free number is 1-877-229-8493; the access code is 14972.
