The House Transportation Committee held public hearings on two pieces of the Senate’s proposed transportation package Thursday: a proposed 11.7-cent-per-gallon gas tax increase and a $15 billion spending bill.
On Friday, the House is releasing its proposed operating budget at 11:30 a.m.

The House Finance Committee will hear several proposals to create or extend tax exemptions when it meets at 8 a.m. The bills before the committee include Senate Bill 1758, to extend a tax exemption for biofuel and biomass, and House Bill 1769, to reinstate tax preferences for high-technology research and development. The hearings will take place in Hearing Room A of the John L. O’Brien Building.

The House Appropriations Committee is expected to hold a public hearing on the House’s proposed budget Monday. The proposed budget could be voted out of the committee Tuesday and be voted off the House floor later in the week.
