Freshman Rep. Jim McCune, R-Graham, looks to be going into his sophomore term.
McCune faced a challenge from Jean Marie Christenson, a Rainier Democrat. Christenson called McCune a puppet for his party and advocated more school and road spending.
She attracted some interest and money from the Thurston County Democratic Party, which considered McCune vulnerable in his first re-election bid.
McCune also said he would work to bring more transportation money to the district, as well as back a reserve fund for the state budget and ask for property-tax exemptions for seniors. He, too, had strong financial backing from his party.
