THURSTON COUNTY: Ballots in the mail

Voters should begin receiving Thurston County’s primary-election ballot as soon as today, county elections officials said this week.

The Aug. 18 primary is vote-by-mail in 38 of the state’s 39 counties, including Thurston. Drop boxes are available for people who prefer to drop off their ballots in person; the boxes will be closed at 8 p.m. Election Day.

Eighteen ballot-drop locations in Thurston County are listed in the county’s voter pamphlet, which was mailed recently to voters whose jurisdictions have measures or contested races on the primary ballot. A list is at www.thurstonvotes.org.
