Candidate for Congress opens office in Parkland

Republican James Postma is opening a headquarters in Parkland for his 9th Congressional District campaign. He plans a kickoff event there at 7 p.m. Thursday.

Postma, a retired rocket engineer and businessman, is running against Democratic U.S. Rep. Adam Smith of Tacoma and Republican Dick Muri, who serves the Pierce County Council out of Steilacoom. The 9th District includes north Thurston County, parts of Pierce County and southwest King County.

The Postma headquarters is at 13829 Pacific Ave. S. in the Parkland Center shopping area, Postma’s campaign said in a news release.
