Republican Senate candidate Dino Rossi is challenging Democratic incumbent Patty Murray to a series of televised debates.

Murray took the top spot in this week’s top-two primary, with about 46 percent of the vote. Rossi took second place, with about 33 percent.

Rossi says he wants five debates in Washington state, along with one nationally televised debate. He says that they should be weekly, starting in early September.

Murray’s campaign says “of course” it’ll look at debates.
