Police say a man who was struck and killed on the light rail line in south Seattle jumped into the path of the train.
Police say the man jumped over a jersey barrier onto the tracks just before midnight Monday. Fire department medics declared him dead at the scene.
Buses took train passengers away.
It was the first fatal accident on the 14-mile Sound Transit line since it opened July 18 between downtown Seattle and Tukwila.
