An investigation into a stolen truck ended with a member of the King County auto theft task force being dragged by the truck and another member of the unit shooting at the vehicle.
The incident happened Friday night. Tacoma police spokesman Mark Fulghum tells The News Tribune that the officer who was dragged was not hurt. He also didn’t know if the officer who fired the shot at the truck hit anyone.
The two officers were following a stolen Ford pickup and had called Tacoma police for help when they approached the house were the truck was located.
The officer that was dragged tried to pull the driver from the truck and used a Taser on the driver, but with no effect, Fulghum said. The driver and a passenger sped away, dragging the Kent police officer.
