Gas prices are dropping, AAA says. What you can expect to pay at the pump in WA
If you’ve noticed cheaper gas prices near you, you’re not alone.
Prices are dropping nationally this summer, AAA said, and the trend could continue.
“There are too many variables to make a prediction,” but drivers could keep seeing smaller numbers at the pump so long as “oil prices remain low and barring any major geopolitical events or tropical storms hitting the Gulf Coast,” the association said in an Aug. 21 news release.
On that day, the national average for a gallon of regular gas was $3.13 — down from $3.16 the week before and $3.14 a month earlier, according to AAA. It’s the lowest the average price has been on Aug. 21 since 2020, when it was $2.18, AAA said.
